Hi :wave , my name is Eric and I live in the Netherlands. I joined the 260 website because I am looking for a good, low mileage V8. I already looked at Autotrader and PistonHeads but are there more places to find a nice one? I prefer the later facelift version with a FSH.
On Pistonheads I saw a 2005 solar red ZT260 advertised (Topspeed). Does anyone knows this one?
In the UK the 260's are cheaper than in Holland and I don't mind RHD ( I already have a RHD MGTF an a RHD Triumph 2000 Estate).
What is a realistic price for a good MG ZT260?
I know, lot of questions but thats why I joined your club!!:thumb

Hi Eric and welcome to the Two-Sixties forum.

Whereabout are you in Holland?? CDE653 (Coen) is in Houten.

We have a lot in common, I have a TF and used to own a 2.5S Saloon :)

Do you know of mgf.be http://www.mgf-tf.com/phpBB2/index.php they also have many Dutch MG enthusiasts on there.

Back to 260's prices vary quite a bit. So its a waiting game for the right car.

Have you any preferences in colour or budget??

myself, i could be tempted with this one. https://www.two-sixties.co.uk/mgoc260/html/f0rum/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=7575 it's being sold by a member on here who is a real enthusiast, and also have a MG dealership. Its a very special colour, but the photo's don't really do it much justice

Cheers

Colin

Hi Colin,

I am from Friesland in the north of Holland (must be about 200 km from Coen in Houten). I saw the monogram Blue ZT from Mike at Ebay sold for about 5900 pounds. That was I think a bargain! My budget is not that important because I am looking for a really nice one and willing to pay for that. But I want to be sure that it's money well spend so low miles and a FSH is a must.
I don't know all the colours (have a little learning to do..:D ) but I am going for a red, (light-)blue or green one. Not the usual 'dark' colours but if it is a very good one..... I've never seen the Poseidon colour over here.
We visit the UK about twice a year (going to Beaulieu) and always travelling around then for a few days. It's not a big deal to come over to the UK for the weekend when there is a nice car waiting for me....:thumb.
Hope to get my name from 'blue' to 'green' soon!!!

Eric

Hi Eric,

Our largest gathering is usually the MG Era show at Brooklands, we get 40+ of us there. It's a good place to come and find out more about our cars, or if you have one by then, come over and join us?

Date for the next one is Sunday 10th April

Whichever one you go for, it will be well worth the wait!

Just a thought Eric, you could also create a "wanted" in this public section of the forum https://www.two-sixties.co.uk/mgoc260/html/f0rum/forumdisplay.php?f=90

Hi,

Today finally completed my dutch registration:

AY53 LLV is now https://ovi.rdw.nl/KentekenImage.ashx?A=47PKR6 :D..

Tomorrow the new dutch plates on the car and then starting to make miles (or kilometers) on the road!

Below a print from the register of the RDW (Dutch Department of Transport):

(hopefully the format is a bit compatible...also tried to insert a few pictures but ......did not get it working...)

Road tax in the Netherlands according to RDW is Euro 1000

Am I glad I moved to the UK :D

That's 83,33 euro a month :D Herman.... my son has got a monthly bus-ticket for 113 euro ...comparing that a 260 is cheap....or am I fooling myself ..

It sure is a lot of money to just have it standing on the road...is it cheaper in the UK? I have some roadtax-free cars as daily drivers (a Triumph 2000 Estate with LPG and a Datsun/Nissan Cherry) so that will save a lot of money :)...

At the end they can say about me: he drove a 260....always better then: he drove a economical Toyota Prius..:D

Sounds like an excellent epitaph to me.

actually what they say about the Prius is misleading - outside of city driving, eg motorway, the economy is appalling - you might as well be driving a 260!!! (based on the experience of someone I know who had one as a company car)

Well, assuming the bus-ticket includes insurrance and fuel, which the 83 euro doesn't, I'd say yes.....................;)
