Any idea why Elite are selling a 2004 ZT V8 "underwritten for stock" with "1 mile" on it -:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Ah, cheeky buggers. They can have mine for £50k not £5k. :)

I don't think it's unusual for traders to put up this kind of ad. If his starting bid for 260 is £5k, then someone will be interested I dare say. I think a few people on this forum have bought cars from Elite, IIRC.

The add is primarily aimed at other dealers which I suspect is where Elite get most of their stock from, these cars do not fare to well in Glasses and dealer have no idea what to offer in PX.

Dealers when you want to trade in a car often farm it out to the trade rather than front it themselves on their own forecourt. Just think of the heaps they have to take in in PX

So to cover themselves they need to get it underwritten to guarantee they don't end up stuck with something worth less than they paid for it

Sounds exactly like what happened with Phil's car which a dealer took as PX.

("The trader said he'd pre sold it to a company (Elite ?) at £7,500 ...")

I think Elite is on here as "precious metal", so maybe he's best placed to comment!

I bought phils car and the dealer px'd it for another car, gave him 10,000 as px ( according to the seller) I paid no where near that for it. So I'm guessing the vendor lost out a bit, but who knowes.
