It's back on E.bay again.

He was going to consider breaking it on the last ad Colin. But from speaking to him it's only as a last resort.

Spoke to him, he says he wants £2k for it.

Rear screen is a rare item.

Trailer and storage space needed, he would probably take less.

What happened last time? I'd got a bid of £500, I was outbid and then it came up as withdrawn, when I looked at the bids, it showed a bid of £2000 and then withdrawn. £2000 seems a lot of money to me for a car "beyond economical repair" (as the insurance companies term it?

I also suggested £500 but he said it was worth £2000.

I think that the value of this car is very questionnable as is its history. A suspicious person might actually call it a 'ringer' because on paper it is a CDTI literally! The pictures or lack of them are very odd and the rear seat shot seems to be a different car entirely -certainly not a Tourer and perhaps not even an MG Rover!!
To cap it all it is now being sold under a different seller identity.

You could buy it and 005 as well and put it back together

Don't X-Powers sell for around £400 on ebay - so a decent set of ZT-T x-powers are almost worth buying this car if you get it for £500, that's before you break it and get back the value of anything else.

When it was on Ebay the first time round I spoke to him and when he said he wanted £2,000 for it. This I thought was to much, but he said most of the value would be in the power train. I said to him that if it was broken for parts I would be interested in the remains of the car less power train, at the right price.
I already have a spare power train and front/rear suspension and sub frames. All I need now is a body shell and all the little odds a sods that fit to it.
If anyone hears of another damage one please let me know.
I know of a spare shell but it is a long long way from home.
If I keep buying it bit by bit do you think I can get away with a second 260 without the wife noticing?

rear window shot dodgy,
and was lifted with a hi-abb from one place to another-he said so,hence damaging the upper door frame /roof
i was going to buy it first time round but a v8 on a cdti log book is as much use as t**s on a bull
pointless otherthan for the few v8 bits left

Thanks for the info on the hi-abb lift.
Anyone know if it is the V8 shell or the cdti moded to take the V8 parts?

but a v8 on a cdti log book

Would that not qualify for lower Tax?

Would that not qualify for lower Tax?

Both my 75 cdti and ZT260 road tax are due at the end of the month

£235 for the 75Cdti

£245 for the ZT260

If you run these car £10 would not change your mind, the risk of being fined ect are to great.

£20 a year for my Fiat500 diesel.

I think you may have missed the point....it's basically a "Rung" car. He's taken a cat B (that can never go back on the road ever) and put some number plates off a Cat c on it.

So all you are buying is a Cat B ZTT V8 and a Cat C CDTi log book.

I'm 99% certain, if you go and viw it, the original v8 VINs (suspension turret and dashboard) will still be visible.

The seller is clearly no "seller". He has been an ebay member since October 2009, and has ZERO feedbacks. He'd be far more clever to break it and sell it for parts on ebay.

ive emailed him regarding sale of the private reg.

he says tax and MOT have run out, so he probably cant be arsed doing anything with it now.

might be worth someone making him an offer for the car for parts if (when) it doesnt sell.

Difficult to transfer the Reg with no MOT.

Don't pay money till you are sure you can transfer it.

[I have A2TRA on a car with no MOT, and it is stuck on the dead car. (which was stolen from me):(]

thanks for that Andy, no chance of an MOT then, seems a waste of a reg though, Im surprised the DVLA havent found a way round that by giving them a bung !! was going to buy S26 OMG at £250 but the OMG reggies have gone up now.

If the MOT date has only just passed, it might still be possible.

My A2TRA is stuck on an "Astra"

Hi

S26 OMG comes up as a 2003 yr model MG ZT-T+ CDTI estate BLUE 1951 cc Diesel but 1st reg on 01/02/05 ?? and unlicensed as of June 2010 and 6 owners !!

so yes something very strange there and interior pic is of a Saloon if an MG

buy or bid with caution

He stated that in the first add.....essentially it's a CAT B v8 masquerading as a CAT C CDTi tourer (or in layman's terms a "rung car"
