VERY pricy item these days - worth giving SMC a call and saying you are a forum member - they'll usually give a discount (ask for Les)

They have 2 sets available

NLA from XPart....try scooter and see if he has any. Failing that, get the existing ones relined..

There was talk of peugeot ones (possibly 407) being similar, but I don't think this was ever explored.

With mine, I got a coarse grade paper and gave them a really good going over, and are now fine.

That's for the complete assemblies.....the shoes used to be available as service items.

Indeed they used to be but aren't so Les' sets are the only route IF new shoes are needed.

Unless the brakes have been binding/rubbing new shoes should not be needed - so Greeners approach is the way to go

Try these for relining - http://www.motoringclassics.co.uk/powerstop-brakes/c195 not used them myself

Are brake shoes unique to the 260 or are common with other ZT/75's?

Thanks everyone! Looks like it's back to relinning shoes they way I had to on my BSA. Think I've someone to do it here in Newcastle, but if that doesn't work out I'll probably take you up on the offer Peter.

Anyone got a knackered/old pair of handbrake shoes they no longer want (not for me - for shop product development activities)

Thanks

Colin, try this thread (https://www.two-sixties.co.uk/mgoc260/html/f0rum/showthread.php?t=5995&highlight=peugeot)

There's a couple of references to other possible shoes that may fit.

Does the shop have a "development budget" ? Is it worth buying some, if not suitable, you could always put them back on ebay to recoup some money

I am looking at 2 routes - a relining deal for club members and to see if there are other shoes that may fit. I have a good contact at local factors so if I can get a set of old shoes then I can try both routes

If I get an old set then I don't need to spend club funds and if I can sort a relining deal then I can get a couple of sets relined using club funds to hold as shop stock to get people out of trouble

Colin,

I have a set of old shoes, swapped out a month ago for MOT. Happy to let you have them (esp. as I know I'll get them returned re-lined ;) ).

We could sort out a handover next time I'm in Surrey - prob this weekend.

Brilliant

Sounds like a plan - let me know you're schedule and see what we can arrange

OK - due to weight to post would be ££££ :( Have you a mobile you are happy to pm me the number for? I can then ring or leave a message when I know what is happening as won't have a schedule - it will be a last minute thing.
