Have the wheels been sprayed a darker colour or is it just my eyes?

Those wheels are the one's I had refurbed at LAPTAB in Birmingham just before selling the car to Dave. They are a darker shade of shadow chrome and I peronally think they look great. In actual fact I wanted to keep them but Dave would not buy the car without those wheels.:(

Wasn't sure if I would like it, but after I saw them I wouldn't change now.

Hi Dave, still think you're making a mistake..........looks a very nice car.
Learn to live with the niggles and enjoy it for what it is.

I would have bought it if I had the cash, just to spread the mileage I do between two 260ties:D

I know its a georgeous car and its been very well taken care of, its just not what I expected it to be.

I can't believe not even one single person has been to look at the car :( surely its not over-priced, its the cheapest one for sale :|

Have you advertise it anywhere else apart from pistonheads? It may be worth doing the premium advert, as this brings it top the top of the listings as soon as you click onto the ZT section. The standard adverts don`t appear until a few pages in and may get missed.
Am surprised that no enquiries though, it looks extremely well cared for. Always think that an engine bay shows a lot of how a car has been kept, and yours appears to be spotless. Good luck anyway with the sale.

Cheers Nigel,

Its on PH and eBay at the moment.. Its got nearly 90 watchers on eBay and I've had a few offers but no one has actually come to look at the car :( I'm pretty sure the first to see it will buy it.

As far as I can see residuals have taken a real hit in the last 3 months, this has to be due to fuel costs.

I'm hoping I don't have to sell mine for a good long while yet!

This supports my long held view that non SE's are nowhere near as desirable - you pay all that money for fuel, insurance, tyres and 5,000 miles service intervals (not to mention depreciation for those that bought early) and you don't get any real toys?! I don't buy the argument it's less weight so it goes quicker. I bet there's no real noticeable difference anyway.

DaveyLC

I personally chose the non SE on purpose, I didnt want all of those extra electrics to go wrong and the biggest problem with Rovers was the K series engines and the electrics ;)

Me too. No sunroof to leak, no digital switch over to worry about, who wants electric windows at the back anyway. Choice between 54 plate SE 15K miles and 56 plate 2k miles for the same money. The non se won easily. Came a cropper with the retrospective tax increase though.

Did I mention the non se had a blower? :D

DaveyLC

Although mine has the sunroof, a cd changer and the SE wheels and I do really like the SE wheels :D

Most of the electronics are BMW items and of all the years of being a ZT owner and on the various forums the only problems i have come across are usually a flat battery or water in the boot. everything else is pretty reliable

That's what I mean; non-SE's are and should be a fair bit cheaper.

PS: Davey - the car looks very good in the photo's and good luck with the sale

I'd avoid a 56 plate car fullstop just because it falls into the "rape tax" bracket lol!

I would...if I hadn't parted with £1.5k more for mine 14 months ago!

Advertise it in Australia with an offer to 'house' it on the buyer's behalf for the requisite 12 months then drop it off at the exporters for them...

DaveyLC

Sadly I havent got anywhere to keep it for 12 months :(

Dave,

Where are you located?

Also what are the niggles that you were being told to live with ??

Where is the tracker wired in and is it easy to remove without removing half the interior? Was the original wiring loom "spliced" in order to fit the tracker?

Sorry for all the questions.

DaveyLC
21-05-2010, 02:12 PM
I'm in Berkshire.. Near Hurst..

Sadly I have no idea where the tracker is installed :)

There are no Niggles, The 260 is just not the car for me!

From the questions, I just assumed he wanted to steal it :D

Lol no, I just hate stuff thats added like that.

You know, might have been some monkey fitting it and breaking the interior clips, and making a mess of the wiring.

As for stealing it.... just LOL, its a 5K car!

Davey, I might give you a call regarding the car...

I must admit, the tracker really puts me off, hence my questions about how easy it is to remove....

Plus some insurers charge MORE for having a tracker installed.

DaveyLC
21-05-2010, 11:36 PM
You're more than welcome to give me a call and come and take a look at the car :)

Still cant believe you have not had a single viewer...

Is that still the case?

My only problem is I cant get down until the end of the month or early June.

Whats the closest airport to you Dave?

DaveyLC
23-05-2010, 10:31 PM
Not a single one!

Closest air port is Heathrow.
