I have Zeros which I swapped with Geoff for a brand new set of X-Powers that I hadn't even unwrapped!

Love the Zeros, probably better for the mileage that I do, but I do sometimes wish I kept the X-Powers.

He even has some diffs and gearboxes, but don't tell anyone, I had a nosey around once when my car was in for a service, He has so many bits and pieces even from the early leyland days, eg, princess, allegro etc
I see he has 2 new front bumpers for the K1 starlight silver and blue buy for £ 105.00

I must admit I thought they could go for £450-500, but to get to this level so soon is a bit bonkers!

At this price could Zero Exhausts not do something similar?

I guess Zero's are still obtainable.

XPowers are rare (2nd hand) let alone new. Only needs 2 people who really want them to make the price rocket!

It is quite interesting to look at the bid history. So far there are only 2 bidders, the winning bidder put in the first bid and the other keeps coming back with a slightly higher bid but always being outbid by that 1st bid.

It must have been a stonking first bid!

£600 anyone?

The first bidder really really wants them!:D
Or he made a mistake like I did once. I was bidding on an item and when I put my bid I accidentally added a zero, I wanted to bid £100. Guess if I was scared til the auction was over.:) Fortunatly I won it for a fair price.

cheers

Steve,

Am I to understand you are in possesion of a set of Tourer XPower Exhausts, XPT000097ACC and XPT000097ACD ? If so, please don't cut them, and talk to me first.

Whole thing looks a bit fishey now. First bidder at £565 was exposed by a number of bids by second who was nicely positioned at £560. His bids are still there. Third bidder has only been £460 brave so far leaving bidder 2 at 470 of his total of 560. So £560.01 would take it........

But you can get a new pair!!

All they are is Janspeed back boxes.

Janspeed will even put the Xpower logo on for you.

If this site organised a group buy, I'd be pretty sure that the price would be at least cheaper than the original Xpart prices.

Food for thought maybe?

I dont mind organising if need be.

Are you 100% sure ? I know, and own, other Janspeed Xpower boxes, ZR and TF, but when I asked last time I was there they said they didn't do the V8 Xpowers ???

If they did, then it's Salisbury tomorrow for me !

BRM494

No mention of ZT or 75 on janspeed website.

T16
05-05-2010, 06:27 AM
Yeah I spoke to them.

They said that many of the optional ones fitted, the cars were brought in to the workshop and they made them to suit.

Also said the Xpower logo was fine to do.

Part is not listed as technically they dont do them anymore, but a group buy would be finanically viable I think.

He essentially told me they dont really want to do them as one offs, and would be far happier doing a batch.

Im happy to organise if there is interest?

Also I know for a fact its Janspeed, as if you call any Xpart dealer, they just phone Janspeed to enquire about availability!

However I suspect if you wanted just one pair made up and drove your car in, they would give you a high price just to dissuade you, as for them a batch makes far more sense.

Would be perfect if we could organise say 20 pairs. Id be perfectly happy to do it, but I suspect just 10 pairs might work out costly.

My own personal opinion is that out of all the backboxes I have heard, the Janspeed Xpowers were far and away the best.

Maybe if I get pricing for 20 pairs we can work off that, or maybe the club might be interested in taking a few?

BRM494

T16,

This has to be worth investigating. I would suggest you ask for a price scale to get an idea. Say 5, 10, 20, and 30.

I susspect, and it would be good to confirm, the boxes for Tourer and Saloon are the same, The inlet end is the same, and only the tail pipe is longer on the Tourer.

Also, Janspeed being Janspeed, might easily do either single large oval or twin round tail pipes ? (As they do, or used to do, for the ZR box, I have one Oval and two twin round.)

If the price is sensible then I'm in for a set.

(Tim, might need to start a new thread ?)

Bruce.

Yup, sorry. they were fitted to my saloon for some obscure reason, and the local chavs were using them as a climbing frame.

I think it will all come down to numbers - how many sets of xpowers are really wanted, how many with a set will buy some for spares?

T16
07-05-2010, 11:57 AM
Well does someone want to start a group buy thread for this?

I'll organise it, and give my details to the site admin.

We really need 20 people wanting a pair, to get the price down.

Can we start a list and see what the demand is like ?

Cheers

ColinE

I'll set one up, I'll keep it in the public for sale and wanted section for now and if an admin wants to move it they can
