Price drop: now £5300

Low mileage, late registered MG ZT260, one of the last MK1s to be released by Longbridge (199 of 217 built). Full service history and has just been serviced. Benefits from having had a 4 wheel alignment, giving excellent high speed grip and stability. Sounds truly awesome, thanks to Zero exhausts.

First registered by MGR 24/1/05. Bought and first taxed by previous owner 11/09/05 with 10 miles on the clock. Bought by me January 2009 at 40k miles. Bodywork in good condition. This car has been completely reliable and the only non-service part I have had to fit in the past year has been a single coil pack. Will be very sorry to see it go, it?s an awesome car for the money.

Nice car. Don't expect it will last long at that price.

Thanks - btw this is my car in case that wasn't clear, am not just copying and pasting from Pistonheads!

Given what I got for mine, I'd say that price was a little too low! I'd have listed it at 7000 and been prepared to move down to 6k. I don't see why you wouldn't get 6.5k for it tbh.

Hell of a lot of car for the money!

Christ I'd have ripped your arm off for that 6 months ago. Agree it's a bit cheap myself.

Have to agree.....Another 1K on that gives you haggling room..... whereas another 2K on that gives you exclusivity...

.. exclusive in so much that you'll have the car all to yourself with no enquiries at all? ;)

Now that all depends on who you ask to comment on the price point! ;)

Exclusive, selective, Like Spinal Tap?

Marty DiBergi (Rob Reiner)
→ The last time Tap toured America, they where, uh, booked into 10,000 seat arenas, and 15,000 seat venues, and it seems that now, on their current tour they're being booked into 1,200 seat arenas, 1,500 seat arenas, and uh I was just wondering, does this mean uh...the popularity of the group is waning?

Ian Faith (Tony Hendra)
→ Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no...no, no, not at all. I, I, I just think that the.. uh.. their appeal is becoming more selective.

:D

Mark Twain giving advice to a would be cotton trader:

"If they are asking for ten dollars it means that they really want eight, would be happy with six and might accept four. So offer two!"

It was ever thus.

Trade is offering £3750 to £4750 for Non- SE Cars

So its about right for private sale.

How can everyone get so excited when it seems only 5 minutes (actually 5 years) since I met a guy who was thrilled with his 260 having paid only £25,000!

My exclusivity is still going well, only one enquiry so far and he then changed his mind about coming to view after he read some road tests and found out about the MPG....

Wow, 25k new, that's a big hit, even if it is over five years. Mind you, big cars with big engines always take the biggest hits in depreciation.

It'll happen when it's meant to - fingers crossed it's soon for you

Surprised at that, cars seem to be selling on Pistonheads fairly quickly when I look.

That's my perception too dobbo. I guess these things go in waves. There is not a continuous demand for these cars like there is more common stuff.

Saw this advert on PH. You've probably already tried?

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1548547.htm

I've got a 'wanted' ad on PH as well but I'm afraid I am holding out for a low mileage mk 2, as nice as yours is though.

Cheers

Rob
