Hi Guys, If anyones interesred I've just acquired a MG ZT 260SE mk 2 in one of the very rare chromeactive paint finishes-Poseidon, a blue green purple flip. Looks awesome and that's not just me saying it! Took the car to the MG show at RAF Cosford yesterday and all the other MG owners voted the car "Best Modern MG Saloon". The car is being sold with a new MOT and a 12 months parts and labour warranty at £9900. Ring me on 01384 259555 for further details.
Fancy the ex-owner swapping it for a Vauxhall

But maybe it's a VXR8 Bathurst ?

Hi Guys, Firstly the car has covered only 32000 miles and looks smashing in Poseidon (don't it SteveTD:D!). As for the Vauxhall, it is a VXR8, but not a Bathtub or whatever they're called:D:D!! Look, I'm not proud and YES I am a MG Dealer, but the car will come with a new MOT and a comprehensive 12 month warranty and for a Chromeactive MG ZT260 SE looks well worth the money?

Fancy swapping with mine John, and maybe throw in a packet of Pork Scratchings sweeten the deal? :duck:)
How about the 75/ZT club, seems people do look at them over there, could finally persuade someone to make the jump ;)

I'm sure it's a lovely car but I'd say you're priced a bit high. This one just sold for nearly £2k under your asking price;

Good luck with the sale in any case!

Dobbo - that example had been re-sprayed in a non-monogram colour, so I would say that has a negative effect on value - and John's retail price is therefore about right.
John - is it my old Posedion car then?

With the line the previous owner 3 times removed gave you Steve that should have been resprayed Red and called Rudolph. :)

Ha yes! I'm gutted that John Baker ever sold it to that guy, because I would have had it back .....until then. The number of stories I tried to keep a straight face when listening to from that guy, was unreal.
He told me that it was re-sprayed by Aston Martin for £6k. When I asked for the receipt, he said it was a cash-in-hand job!

Well when I handed that car over, it was pretty near immaculate. Cleanest car I have ever owned. Of all the 260's I've had it was most noticably the smoothest to drive, lovely gear changes, but always very quiet? Strange how each model varies so much in it's driving manner!

Well, there seem to be a lot of questions! First of all, Steve, YES it is your old car and it is in just as good a condition as the day you part exchanged it. Now then as for price. This is a new model-correct for the year. It is not a private sale (with all the risks that involves) and it comes with a 12 month-that's TWELVE MONTH warranty and full MOT. Also I can take a part exchange, arrange finance etc etc. Stu-if you buy the car, then the scratchings are on me!! Lastly-I'm not any old garage owner, I'm a M&S-(Ooops, wrong ad:D:D!!) one of you-a MG ZT 400 enthusiast who's totally nuts about my V8!! Oh, one last thing anybody want a Rover SD1 Vitesse bright red with 87k mls on the clock, not mine, but I know the guy who's selling it-wants £3500?

Its a pity I cant find the pictures I had- no offence John, but the pictures you have taken dont do the car justice, this colour looks superb on a ZT.
The wheels need either a refurb in the correct shade, or a set of vortex alloys, but each to their own

Yes, it was V8 Pete's car, I've bought it back off him and it's now sitting in my showroom till I find someone like minded who appreciates a rare colour and the V8 roar and doesn't mind getting friendly with a petrol station and tyre fitting owner:D!!

More like it - one came passed me in the van and parked up and I could not hear it at all - my engine was off and in narrow street so was somewhat surprised

they sound far too quiet, one passed me as I walked home from work, sounded like a normal Vauxhall.

Petes sounded quite a bit louder than zeroes to me, made a great rumble and it really REALLY shifted. The noise sounded like it was coming from the engine too... dunno, sounded more forward than i am used to.
Probably a bit like ours, stock exhausts sound comparatively silent compared the 'loud' options. Nice car though... and definitely not a vauxhall. All vauxhall have done is stick a badge on the bonnet that looks comically out of place, haha :)

Thanks Pete, at Summit Garage, we try and do what we say we're gonna do, when we say we're gonna do it! If that fails, then we have to go for plan B:D!
