Hi everyone!
Just a quick intro to me...

I have yet again been infected with V8 lust (happens at every event!) after Gaydon last weekend.

This time It's really going to happen. The pieces are in place... Big engine cars are rock bottom prices, my daily commute is short (4 miles! instead of >30) the cash is in the bank and the approval has been given from the financial controller :D

So some of you may have seen me on the other fora (been kinda quiet lately, it's been a busy 18 months!) or met me at events.

I currently have a 53 Trophy blue ZS and my wife has a N plate Japanese MGF in British Racing Green, and we get to the odd event or two when we can.

so ever since seeing AliCat's MKII 260SE a few years ago it's been a drool fest :love for me and her.

now I just have the arduous task of finding a tourer... no easy task... i think half of them were at gaydon at the weekend!

Cheers!
Al

Hi Al,

And welcome. As has been posted on here before, V8 Tourers are rarer than saloons and as such, a bit harder to track down.

If you are flexible in your choice of colour you will probably have more luck.

Good luck and good hunting.

Well i'm not in a massive rush to get one, the zs is doing an outstanding job right now and haven't had a drive in one yet... Who knows, it may not be my bag once I try one out.

Hi King Minger-you say a ZT260 may not be your bag when you try it out? Trust me-it will:D!

@ragman I'm down on the coast, between Portsmouth and Southampton

just seen this one on autotrader: (http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/MG/Ne-2-4-5-6-7-8-27-44-49-53-61-64-67-103-133-146-236,N-240-4294966777/advert.action?R=200920334164389&distance=1&postcode=HP18+0XB&channel=CARS&make=MG&model=&min_pr=&max_pr=&max_mileage=&vehicleYearOfManufacture=2003&vehicleRegLetter=V)
on at £9999, currently wearing V80 OMG. the page reckons the plate is worth 2.5K. is that a fair assessment? I wouldn't keep the plate as tempting as it might be!

Welcome to the group :)

Nowhere close, I'ed say £500. Andy an ex-owner had V8 OMG and he could not sell his at £750.

Have to agree.

Been looking at V8 HGB (initials) and that goes for 399 at the DVLA all inclusive.

Between 400 and 500 seems reasonable

Ah ok.
I knew of Andy's plate, but didn't know what he tried to get (and couldn't) for it, I wondered why he kept it on the tourer after he handed the 260 back.

is that car or previous owner known to the two-sixties?
Cheers

PM me a more precise location and we'll sort something out - I'm away next week but thereafter we can sort something out

ok no problem. got a lot on myself this week coming until after the bank holiday. so we'll sort something out after that :)

took the ZS to the local ex-MG garage for a service and double checked if they can deal with 260's to find they have 3 on the books already :)

Viking in Southampton (well hedge end for the servicing)

if you don't know them, even though the dealership is now kia, the servicing team are still very mugh MGR enthusiasts. plenty of MG paraphenalia around the place, including some mags featuring Dreadnought's work. when you go in reception, the only thing to give you a clue that it's a kia franchise is the sign on the front of the building!
