Zero quads for sale. Bought in October 2006 for £470.

My exhaust guy had to hammer a bit to get them off, and has slightly deformed the flanges, but I'm sure it won't be an issue to tap them to back to shape for refitting. Pics of flanges so you know what you're getting:

Price: £330 including postage.

I'll sell to the first person to PM me to keep it fair, OK?

Guys, someone is asking me if these boxes have the modification to reduce resonance. I don't know. I seem to recall thinking that these ones were made after the Zero guy started doing the modifications, and so would be the newer spec. Does anyone know when he started doing that?

If you had them fitted prior to November 2007, then possibly they are pre-modified.

edit: I notice you bought them in 2006, so unless you sent them back they will not be the modified version.

The subject is discussed in THIS (https://www.two-sixties.co.uk/mgoc260/html/f0rum/showthread.php?t=2286&highlight=zero+modification) thread.

Picking up some of the comments on the other thread. I had my Zeros put on in May and two months on they are really starting to bed-in and sound lovely and harmonious, I am note sure how long it takes for these bespoke exhausts to settle-in but it seems they get better as time goes on. Also with the Rustmaster treatment underneath it seems to have helped mellow and boom or vibration that may be been present.....

Lynge from Denmark may be interested for his R75.

To fit the R75, I think you would have to modify the rear bumper to have cut-outs as the OEM exhausts point down under the bumper and don't have the cut-outs with heat shields as per the 260.

Lynge's 75 has the cut outs for his current custom pipes which were made as a one off and are producing bad cabin noise.

zeros a well worthwhile fit for reducing cabin noise, Ive just gone from X powers to modified zeros, very refined !!

do miss the guttural howl at high revs though

Hi

What did you do with the X-Powers? or have they been put aside for a noisy day :)

If they become available for sale I would be interested please.

Regards

Nige

Spoke to Kevin Howe at Zero today. I was wondering what the resonance modification actually was.

anyway, the modification was a perforated tube muffler pipe tacked in the outlet pipes, Ill try and get a decent picture of the mod over the weekend.

He reckons he only did about half a dozen modified sets before doing a complete redesign of the internals.

Ive spent a couple of hours in the 260 today, and am pleased with the Zeros, plenty noise without being overbearing.

Bump - still for sale. These are unmodified. I have asked Kevin at Zero if he would still modify these if wanted, am waiting to hear back.

I'm also waiting for him to comeback to me but you can either get to him or post the boxes.

Kevin quoted me twenty quid for the mod and is happy to do it for whoever buys these off me next.
