Hi Chaps;

After an enjoyble day out at Brooklands, yesterday, and finally (after over 1.5 yrs owning the car) getting to hear some Zero's and X Powers + meetyou all !!...I 'm keen on getting some X-Powers for my 260 saloon.

Just tried Premier parts wareouse ( Zwarehouse on ebay) ...who have 2 sets available,apparently?..

They talk about "left bank" and "right bank". Details are :-

ZT Left Bank P/N: XPT000097ACA = £196
ZT Right Bank P/N: XPT000097ACB = £214

Are these the correct "parts" to order?. Why the slight diff. in price?..Anyone know of any available cheaper?
Are there just 2 sets left in the whole world?!!

Thanks

Good day ysterday!...Look forwward to the pics!

Regards, Andrew

According to MG Shop the price for the exhausts is same for left and right.
The difference is in the options. The site does not explain what the options are.

The ACA & ACB are the correct part no's for the saloon (ACC & ACD for Tourers).

They do indeed seem to be the last new ones left anywhere, as I found out when looking for ZT-T Xpowers recently.

You won't think they are expensive at all once you've fitted them. The best £400 you'll ever spend on a 260 :D

Make them an offer. It worked for me.

How much did you offer?

Has anyone here gone from Zeros to X-Powers? How much noise difference is there? I like my Zeros but they're a bit too shy and retiring, I now feel....

I did and have no regrets, cabin noise is similar regarding the resonance certainly no more than zeros, you do get that lovely burble which the zeros lack, when you floor it its certainly more rorty than the zeros , afterall ita a BIG V8 so why not sound like one :thumb:thumb

I agree having fitted the X-powers and driven in some varying road coditions I think I can live with them no problem. I hope you can find some, check out these and add any comments to the link below

As you can see from the listing I got him to confirm they were saloon, so I told him they were not what I wanted, AND did not come with the car attached !!, So it's not me.

Well Sorry for the "Radio Silence" after starting this thread last week...Been away + wasn't going to temp fate as I thought i'd missed them!...

However; Pleased to announce that I have finally secured (delivered last Thursday) the VERY LAST NEW X-POWER EXHAUSTS from Premier Auto Parts...+ Using the 10% discount available on the 75&ZT Owners club forum...I paid £379 INC. of VAT & delivery.

Just got to get them fitted !! :)

Any pointers of who to get them fitted (I live in the East Grinstead / Gatwick area) Kwik Fit? + how long should it take? so I can judge the cost/hourly rate.

Judging by a previous thread ...I also think the old brackets may be rusted up...Do I need to order new brackets / bolts?...Or can you get by?

Regards, Andrew

easy to fit yourself, even if the bolts are rusty spray them the night before with some WD40 which will help to release them

As I mentioned in the comments I was driving with the tailgate (not the boot) open to enhance the sound effects.

but they are pretty noisy with everything closed too.

I used the car for a long journey last w/e with my wife, and her aunt and uncle (sitting at the back). They were impressed.

However, the noise did make conversation difficult at times during the drive. Cruising at 75 mph they were all right though.

Of course if you often go for long drives or have passengers they are not ideal. But for the driver's pleasure they are a hoot.

I do a fair bit of long distance when i visit friends, but thats cruising on the motorway, so wont affect anything, and most of the time its just me in the car :D Win win

Sitting on the motorway at 70mph there is very little to tell them apart. However you will be aware of them as soon as the throttle is depressed.

that's how I find mine as well! Quiet when they need to be, but able to wake up the sleepy as and when required!
