I just bought a complete set of wheel bolts from Rimmer to replace mine which had started to corrode. They came with 4 Rover wheel centre caps, which are no use to me. Anyone interested, let me know. I will be back in the UK in 2 weeks' time and can post them on then. Any fair offer accepted - please PM me. Cheers.

Careful! The set I bought from Rimmers came with the older style of badge, as fitted to Mk 1 75's, not the later style fitted to Mk II's and the V8's. These can be found on ebay at a quite reasonable price (about £12, if I remember correctly). My reason for buying is that on one of my caps the silver surround has turned white. The badge itself is unaffected. The wheel bolts of the Rimmers set are black anodised which, I'm told, are not prone to rusting. One of these days I'll get round to fitting them.

I'll have them if Contemporary decides they're not for him - for my Mk1

I think they'll fit, it's more that they're a slightly different design-I think

On the left is the one I got with the Rimmer bolt set. On the right is the one on our V8's. Fitting is the same size.

Peter,

Thanks for posting the image. I've pm'd Julian to check which one Rimmers sent him.

These are the caps I have from Rimmer - let me know in PM if you'd like to go ahead.

Oops, sorry. I should have said that the caps don't have the word 'Rover' at the top. They just have the ship. The newer design has a more 'modern-style' ship, and the sail seams are not as prominent.
On closer examination, there is a difference in size and fitting. (I must stop relying on my failing memory!) The older style is slightly smaller in diameter; the lugs are closer together, longer, and with a greater depth to the clip ledge. I'll upload a couple or three pics in a moment which will hopefully show what I mean. The old style will be on the left each time.

P.S. What I haven't done yet is to check that the new ones do fit. If it's not too cold, I'll try them tomorrow.

Hi all,
Mike has established that the caps I have don't fit the 18 inch wheels and also have the older (pre-V8) logo. If anyone is still interested - perhaps for another 75 - just let me know.
Cheers.

'Tomorrow' was too cold, but I have now checked and they do fit the 17" wheel. I presume they would also fit the 18". I bought them from here:-
ROVER 75 ALLOY WHEEL CENTRE CAP COVER SET NEW X4 on eBay, also, Rover MGF, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 18-Nov-08 20:06:41 GMT) (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ROVER-75-ALLOY-WHEEL-CENTRE-CAP-COVER-SET-NEW-X4_W0QQitemZ320312086017QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item32 0312086017&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C66%3A4%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318)
The seller (dogs bot) seems quite genuine and reliable, and appears to have several sets available at buy-it-now price of £12.50 postage free. There's a closing date of the 18th of November.
For future reference, the part no. is DTC 000150 XXX. (I don't know if that XXX at the end is of any import.)
