Latest info & kit details here folks;
Note to mods!
My details are published on my own website so no privacy issues here;)

Make sure you have a resistor fitted originally. (check through the front grill for a silver component in the 2 o?clock position behind the fan blades)
If you have an intermittent fan and there is no resistor fitted, then you have the older type 3 speed motor which will be suffering from brush wear, and a whole motor is required.

Once you have established you have a resistor fitted, this means the later 2 speed fan is fitted, and the parts below will sort your fan problem out. Basically there are 2 choices:

Resistor only £10 = £3.95 P+P = £13.95 (overseas extra please ask?)

Comes centre punch marked ready for drilling
Ring terminals
Heatshrink sleeving for weather proofing

Or
Full kit comprising:

·Resistor kit predrilled and tapped tailored ready to fit.
·Weather proof heat shrink
·CD Powerpoint presentation with 25 photos on how to fit including bumper removal.
·Cable ties to finish job off
With solder lugs & crimp terminals
Less work with kit hence quicker to fit.

Price £14 plus £3.95 P+P = £17.95 (overseas extra ask?)
Many owners & garages have now fitted the upgrade.

There are 3 ways to pay
You can send a cheque PM for details

Sometimes I list them through eBay (search on 75 fan resistor) My user name is tdicars.
You can buy without going through eBay.

For PAYPAL type in into your Search box: www.paypal.com (http://www.paypal.com/) click "SEND MONEY" to julian(at)jma-cars.co.uk (julian@jma-cars.co.uk)
When it asks what money is for, insert this line of text:

75 Resistor kit from Rover forums.
Describe it as a service (this is to separate it from eBay sales if you are not buying through eBay)
I will send you confirmation when funds received.

Thanks for your enquiry

Does anyone have any idea roughly when the newer 2 speed fan was fitted?

Around mid 2003! But no definite chassis number changeover.
As some 2004 facelifts were still fitted with the old 3 speeders.
