hand brake

Hi

I have just purchased a MG ZT 260 and when i got the car the handbrake would not hold, i have adjusted the handbrake cables and rear pads, However the handbrake still will not hold on hills and there is a lot of travel in the lever itself.

please can you help:confused:

Welcome along and congratulations on your purchase, regarding the hand brake did you adjust the shoes through the hole in the drum with the handbrake nearly all the way down ? thats what I did and its fine :)
