I spoke today to a trader down in Cullompton, Devon, who has SARRXGLGB2D0000003 for sale. It's a red saloon which was registered in 2002 but not sold by the factory until late 2005 (presumably by the receivers, PWC). It's a prototype with non-standard suspension, brakes (AP) and exhaust. The vendor tells me the engine is a bit special and goes like s**t off the proverbial. It's a Mk1 SE model with all the usual interior extras such as sat nav, TV, leather/alcatara etc. There appears to be one or two prototype trim parts and it has 12,500 miles on the clock. It was also "tested" by Mr Clarkson and his hooligans on Top Gear as well as being the 2002 UK Motor Show car. If anyone is interested then please call Wayne Richards on 07846 885654.....he's looking for something around £13,000.

Best, Colin

(Of course all of the above is as told to me by the Vendor, and I have no idea of the accuracy)

3 years as a development car and only 12500 miles?

I hope who ever take it on is a mechanic... guessing it is a little 'bespoke' in areas :)

If MGR hadn't failed, these development cars would have been sent to the crusher after their useful life with the company. It should now be broken down for parts.

Is there a great variance in the clutch?

I'm a 'big boy' (read fat Bstd.) but I really dont even notice the clutch at all?

Its fine... you just realise the difference if you jump in a focus or something new... ie you will put your foot through the floor, haha

It is definitely harder to operate than an average car.

I regard it as an MG characteristic: all my MGFs had stiff clutches, as has my current TF. Nice and sporting IMO, although admittedly if you're driving in stop and start traffic it can get tiresome.
