Can anybody give me an idea regards insurance costs on a 260,especially a modified one i.e Accufab, after market exhaust. I am 46 and have full no claims and currently run a 2001 4.0 s type Jaguar so whatever it is I am sure it can't be much worse its just the modification side are there good deals to be had through the MGOC ?

Thanks

Mine was £400 this year with Elephant, that's with an aftermarket exhaust, but I only do about 5000 miles a year with it. I'd expect you'd be looking at no more than £600 - but it depends on your circumstances of course.
Best bet is to shop around, also worth trying MGOC and Peter Best.

Cheers

recently done a quote through the MGOC having turned 25 and it fell to a suprising low about, with mods as well, so will be trying them when my insurance runs out in july. hopefully gone are the days of £1300

Try A Plan, 42 clean licence ( god knows how!) supercharged, domestic & pleasure use, full no claims Stroud Glos £ 475.00 per year fully comp 6000 miles max.
This is where it really pays to shop around, I usually spend a few hours getting the best quote poss, The other company I have used before is peter best they wanted £ 525.00 and that was with unlimited milage :)

Peter Best seems best for VFM especially unlimited mileage and any mods, would always recommend GAP insurance I pay £70 for 3 years to pay out 10K, also consider if you need it for business use, mine is best used when visiting old and new clients, always impressed!:D

Mine is at Peter Best too. A word of advice if you call them is to ask if they've taken off the 20% loading that they usually apply to the 260. Once they know you're an owners' club member, and you've gone there on the recommendation of others on here, you should see the price drop nicely!

Mind you, mine is still £650, 37, clean licence, full no claims, unlimited business use and mods (exhausts and TB) declared. Living in Epsom seems to load it a fair bit!

Got the shock of my life when I renewed the insurance on the Growler - A Plan in Thatcham got me full cover including all mods like for like, £470.

I've never paid this little for insurance in my entire life (I've been a petrolhead my entire life so insurance has always been very expensive).

I'm 33, car is parked on public road all year round, 5000 mile limit, fully comp etc. It's slightly modified - it has Zero exhausts, and a slight change to the induction system (a supercharger) :)

I have 9 years no claims on the policy I used (actually touch wood I've never had a car-related insurance claim), and the speeding ban in the Noble 5 years ago is now off my record so I have a single Gatso 3-pointer on the licence.

I'd definitely try A-Plan in Thatcham, ask to speak to Claire...
