Just in the process of over hauling the brakes on 277, going to be fitting new discs front and rear and new pads they are all taken care of.
I want to replace the drum brake pads on the hand brake, the research that ive done is directing me to Peugeot 607 pads, has anyone used these or have you found any other ones that fit well.

Last question does anyone know if the backing plates for the front disc brakes are available any where.

Thankyou

J... research that I've done is directing me to Peugeot 607 pads ...
Assuming you mean 'shoes'? I have used the Peugeot ones and found that they fit and work well, and offer a cheap solution. You will find original shoes and back-plates at Brown and Gammons. This is their current list of 260 parts. https://www.ukmgparts.com/catalogue/r75zt260-rover-75-zt-v8-260

Just looked up TRW brakes they are saying GS8469 shoes needed, but looked down the compatability list and they are saying they fit all ZT models.

Yet another "Fits all 75 and ZT models 1999 to 2005".
Even Rimmers and DMGRS are guilty of that sometimes.

You think they would learn when they get them all returned from V8 owners.

I am sure I used shoes off a 406, the only diffrence was a chamfer in the end of the shoe that was not on the new ones.

They adjusted up and worked well but needed another tweak a couple of weeks later to get them back up to 100%,

I used brake shoes off a 607 and they are near the same, it's also in the index if you have a look

IIRC some but not all 406 models use the same shoes as 607's, which could explain that. Most on-line parts suppliers show TRW GS8683 for the 607, and that is indeed the part I have fitted, looking back at the invoice.

Different brake shoes, different rear discs, different back plates, different mechanism and different hand brake cable bu apart from that they are similar.

As above, V8 rear hand brakes shoes, discs, shoes adjustment mechanism are all larger than the normal ZT/75
