You would be well advised to sign up as a full member, David, when important data like that would be readily available, plus a LOT of related information, 'How to' threads and advice, which could prove indispensable .... but for the time being, here is the data you ask for at the moment:

Rear Differential
There are only three oils available in the UK that have full sign-off for the unit. These are:-
Mobil SHC80W140 id
Castrol SAF-XJ80W-140 as originally specified has been replaced with Castrol Syntrax 75W-140
Morris Lubricants Lodexol XFS 80W-140 (the "favourite" one according to the specialists).
Capacity 1.6l

Manual Gearbox
Dexron 111/Mercon V ATF (Ford strongly recommend Mercon V).
How to here - Gearbox Oil Change (https://www.two-sixties.co.uk/mgoc260/html/f0rum/showthread.php?6859-Gearbox-Oil-Change-how-to)
Capacity 3.0 litres wet fill
Original information was Capacity 3.6 litres wet fill or 3.8 litres from dry, figures sourced from the Mechanics Training Notes and have since been amended by Tremec to 3.0 litres wet fill.

Thank you – I will join up as a full member this week.

I just bought the car yesterday and am on a steep learning curve.

No driver's handbook, naturally!

PS – what are the correct tyre pressures?

Welcome as a 'Guest' member anyway, David :). If you haven't got the questionaire you need to become a full member, send a message asking for one with your email address for reply, to Tim as a private message, or as an email to mods.twosixties@gmail.com

As far as the owner's handbook is concerned, these MAY still be available on the 'Bay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MG-ZT-ZT-T-260-Owners-Handbook-RCL-0588-3rd-Edition-NEW-UNUSED/174120638691?hash=item288a6618e3:g:OosAAOSwJkJWjmM q . Reasonable price, I think.

Tyres are 34 lb/ft front, 36 rear (2.3, 2.4 bar resp.).

May I ask what the VIN of your car is, please? Last 3 digits enough. Maybe we know the car here?

Hi David – it's 402. I will get that form sent as soon as I have a moment.

Am I right in thinking the V8 front end has the same suspension, steering and brakes set-up as the ZT190?

I also have the latter and know it well.

I need to order a few parts...

Ah, #402. Just noted it down as being sold in the 'Cars For Sale' thread on Friday, after it was de-listed from Auto Trader. I don't think it is a (ex-) Two-Sixties member car, but I could be wrong.

Suspension has only a very few similarities with the 190. In essence both front and rear ends are unique to the 260s.
You should try to get a RAVE CD from an Xpart dealer if you intend doing any work on the car.

At present this is being advertised, a very rare genuine Workshop Manual - Service Procedures CD. It is similar to the RAVE CD, but may not be quite as up to date: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MG-ZT-260-workshop-manual-CD-Genuine-MG-workshop-manual/114766225659?hash=item1ab899a0fb:g:91EAAOSw535gdvX V

I got my 260 Rave from Rimmer's and they're only just over £10, so cheaper than that ebay listing

Rimmer's link: Rave Disc - Rover 75/MG ZT/MG ZT260 - ZAA000400 | Rimmer Bros (https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-ZAA000400)
IIRC there are some problems getting it to work on Windows post-XP versions, but there is I believe a workaround for that for Win10. Anyone like to step in on that?

Edit: The fix mentioned here apparently works. https://www.two-sixties.co.uk/mgoc260/html/f0rum/showthread.php?18510-RAVE-CD-Installation&highlight=Manual

(I have the original "Workshop Manual - Service Procedures" (RCL0504(3)ENG) in printed form, about 770 pages, like the CD I mentioned earlier, so I don't use a RAVE CD anymore).

You just put the date on your computer to 2005, then it should work

There's no date limit on the latest Rave discs, the one XPart has been shipping for some years now and which are sold through XPart retailers including Rimmer.
David was talking of a different issue, those discs using quite old Acrobat4 software from some 15+ years ago, they have an issue when used on the latest Windows 10 builds, the workaround is mentioned above.

Ah right, didn't know that but the one I bought off rimmers only works on my computers if I put the date back to 2005

Does it mention an expiry date on its printed side? Maybe some old stock but the one I got from XPart directly back in 2015 didn't even have an expiry date back then...

No its just the disc, ZAA000400 I bought it to compliment my other Rave MG Rover Workshop manual 2003 edition, though it does say on that If you get MULTIUSER SECURITY HANDLER EXPRIED you need to reset your computer to 2003. As I use an old laptop when using those and my Legacy Austin Rover CD workshop manuals I've set that to 2005 and left it at that, seems to open everything at that date
