I'm not aware of a particular paint code, only that it's referred to as Shadow Chrome

The code should be MBM, but is no longer available, if indeed it ever was available as a paint (as against powder coating). Read this I found on MG-Rover.org, for what it's worth:
"I refurb wheels in my business and the only "proper" paint available for shadow chrome is usually black base with German fx or sparkle silver over the top. I've had very good results with both."

Hi Dagand, you need to get your completed questionnaire back to Tim to get full access to the forum. Lots of useful information for you to read up on regarding paint codes and satnav options.

Perhaps Nich could ad this to the index as it is an important bit of info.

Kev Perhaps best to check first that the BMW "Chrome Shadow" is actually the same as 'our' "Shadow Chrome" ?

I've added it to the INDEX with a proviso.

From speaking to my friend who runs a paint shop it is more to do with the technique than the product. The technique is paint the wheels gloss black and then once dry apply a silver with a lot of thinners and having the oven quite hot leaving the sides of the spokes just to get over spray.

This is probably an over symplistic explanation of the technique but I hope it helps.

Not quite sure the BMW one matches our cars...

Bonjour
Quand j'aurais repeint mes roues je vous dirais si cela correspond à la peinture d'origine Cordialement Yves.

HelloWhen I painted the wheels I would tell you that it looks like the original paint.

Indeed, but paint shops will be a lot more familiar with BMW codes - certainly as time goes by. Yeah, I know that quoting a paint code any worthwhile paint shop should be able to mix it to oe spec and it should not matter the length of time it was last used.
