Hi all!

First of all, great to have a forum like this. I just purchased a 2004 ZT-T 260 here in The Netherlands. I had a fully loaded Rover 75 100th Anniversary in the past. It was a diesel and I loved it, but the holy grail of course was the V8. Now I have one, and it's at least as much fun as I imagened. Please don't mind the horrible wheels on the pictures, the OEM ones are on the way.

The Lexus is my other V8 :).

Now that we've had all that, on to the problem. The steering pump in my car makes a very annoying whining noise. According to my mechanic, it's leaking. Does anyone know where I can find such a pump? Is it a Ford, a Rover or a BMW part? Thanks in advance!

Hi Jan, welcome to the collective. First of all you need to get your questionnaire back to Tim to get full access to the vast amount of information on the forum. If you add your location to your profile it can often help members give you advice about parts, Damen and Kroes I suspect will be your major source being in the Netherlands but I am sure David will put you straight about them. I'll try and find out some more info about the steering pump for you but I am sure others will be along with some suggestions soon.

Nich.

Goede morgen en prettige Koningsdag uit Son en Breugel !
(Aan #586 ook).

The power steering pump part number is QVB000380 I believe, but XPart, Damen en Kroes and Rimmers no longer list it, let alone show availability. A very old advert I did find from AllCarPartsFast, listed it as GBP 660 including VAT !!!

You may find this dealer who has some bits from a 260 he is breaking in London can help. I do not see it listed, but maybe worth a call. Then there is postage for a heavy item of course. More than local PostNL !

GOOD NEWS ! (hopefully...)
Member Spitfire1X (https://www.two-sixties.co.uk/mgoc260/html/f0rum/member.php?29257-Spitfire1X) had one for sale only a couple of weeks ago (at GBP 300 new), maybe still.

Howdy and welcome! How's your research for the parts so far?

Welcome and enjoy your stay.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the power steering pump is Ford. Rock Auto (https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/ford,2004,mustang,4.6l+v8+sohc,1425024,steering,po wer+steering+pump,7380) have them an quite cheap.

Thanks! Now, that is going to be good news for a few people!
Any particular engine, size, type, year etc. do you know? Perhaps even a Ford part number?

David I had one cross referenced a few years ago by a power steering specialist as the pump has a ford part number on it. Think from memory off the V6. I did put it on here many moons ago.

Searched over all your posts here, Wyn, but only came up with these pump related ones, I'm afraid

2011

"Same pumnp as mondeo I can get new for about £150 exchange"

"Pump is the same. They dont come with pulleys on and as usual a sepcial tool is required. "
2010

"I got a new pas pump went to my local man who does pas racks. cross ref it and it is thesame as a ford mondeo cost me £160 "

" ... dont have a part number sorry but it is exchange for your old one and he will need you old pump to remove the pulley special tool for this as usual "

That info came from Wyn Fellowes (eurorover) and, as I said in the posts earlier in the thread, he can't recall. I guess the only way is to consult a Ford dealer with a 260 one in your hand, unfortunately.
