Given that you joined the club over two and a half years ago Peter don't you think it is time you became a full member. If you return your questionnaire to Tim you will get full membership which will give you access to the whole forum, not just the public section. If you have mislaid your questionnaire PM Tim and he will send you another one. You will then be able to access all of the information on here about springs.

Nich.

Depending on the age/mileage, a matched pair might be better?

I guess they are V8 ones?

Question:
Springs and Shocks
Are the R75V8 fronts the same as R75 non V8.
I guess same answer for the ZT260 against the ZT non V8

I have a set of new units but yet to get springs.

No, Andy they are not the same as regular ZT/R75 at all. The ones I have are for the V8 but Rover 75 V8 spec (softer?), not MGZT-260 spec.; should have been more explicit, sorry!

Edit: Noted that Rimmers only quote one number (R75V8 vs. MGZT-260) but the parts list says different. Indeed my springs have the parts list number which differs from Rimmers.

As a matter of interest, I had a broken front spring on my ZTT a few years ago - about 100mm off the bottom. The only reason I knew, was trying to
find out why there was such rattle on the front end!

Yes, of all the broken springs I have had (and plenty!) over the years, R800 series a and R75's, the majority have been way low down, often making it difficult to see at a casual glance.

I tried e-mailing you to the address supplied but it was a bad address.

Rimmer Bros have them - http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-REB000590PR

Or you can buy them from Suplex http://www.suplex.de/en/contact who say they supply MG-Rover. I have bought a pair of front springs from them for my ZT 260.

In case of any doubt, I would never replace a single spring – always replace the pair.
