Hi to all , new here so please be patient with me !

I have just got a 54 plate 260 super saloon .Does need some work but very low miles .first is the diff oil , i can see the filler but not the drain plug , (looks a bit compact )

could anyone talk me through it ?

The drain plug is easy. It is the lowest of the ring of bolts at the back. The problem is the filler plug which is housed behind the mounting frame.

It requires a 29mm socket which is difficult as there is very little room. However, as the washer is plastic and not very tight, I managed to loosen it with an adjustable spanner. The mod is to weld a socket onto it for easier removal next time. It may be a bit easier to get at if the jack is directly under the diff itself as it is lifted slightly.

The oil should be warm when you drop it and some sort of syringe is helpful to get the new oil in.

Hi andy , car is xpower grey vin is 240 ,not sure if its standrad yet as not to familiar yet ,it does have bilstiens all ,take there not standard ,thanks for the info regarding the diff. Will try to go green but bit of a techno phobe ,Mick .

Welcome. Bilsteins are standard.
Do you have cruise control, sat nav etc the typical markers for the higher SE spec.
Drive safe.

Thanks, I don't have much info on #240 other than it is XPG and a picture or 2 ;)

The shocks are bilstiens as standard.
