Looks like I've gone and done it :D deposit paid on a 260, collecting it next week.

I'll do the honours with details and pictures when I pick it up.

The last three numbers of the vin are 254, so if anyone has any previous knowledge of the car, good or bad, I'd appreciate any comments.

It's a base spec car, so that's me occupied for a while with a few upgrades ;). My diesel ZT will be donating a few bits and bobs, powerfolds, rear blind, heated seats and the like.

I'd also like to add some other bits and bobs, like rear leccy windows and cruise if it's possible, so plenty to do..

Now all I need is a few shares in my local petrol station, I can't wait....~JJ~

Long week ahead. :)

You're not joking ;) Still, at least Thursday is taken care of, I'm at Trent Bridge for the test match.

Sunday should be a good day 😀

Well, the week so far has been brilliant, Trent Bridge was amazing today, I just can't wait to top it all off with a collection on Sunday.

V8 goodness is on it's way :D

Well, today has been a good day! :D:D:D:D:D

It started off with a taxi to the station, then a 2 hour train journey into deepest Lincolnshire, and ended up with a cracking drive home in my latest purchase, VIN 254.

Lots of paperwork with the car, it seems to have been well looked after. It's only done a couple of thousand miles over the last year.

First impressions?
Good:
feels very "tight", no rattles or clonks from the suspension.
revs freely to the red line, but pulls well from tickover
very clean oil and coolant
lovely condition leather seats
THAT SOUND........................:D

Not so good:
horrible Kenwood stereo (might have to steal the double din from the diesel)
Lexus style rear lights (I just don't like them, MG7 lights going on tomorrow)
no rear parking sensors (aftermarket ones on order)
the aircon, although cold, is not the freshest.

A couple of other things, the gearbox is very "notchy" (is this normal?) and where should the bite point of the clutch be? (seems a tad high, but that may be just me, I've been an auto driver for years)

It's going to take a while to get used to though, at first I thought it wasn't as quick as I'd hoped, then I realised I'd been changing up at 3000rpm (too long with a diseasel:getmecoat:). Once I'd sorted that out, I had some fun on the long straight roads between Boston and Newark :D

Day off tomorrow, so if the weather holds, the DA will be out with some Prima Amigo and some Nattys Blue, then time for a photoshoot.

One happy V8 owner (that sounds soooo good :D)

It is a responsive car when you get used to the weight.

Power tails off at 5,500rpm. Don't rev over 6,100rpm.

I often don't use the stereo just open the window and listen to the exhaust (Better than looking at the rev counter;))

The gearbox is slow, It can be quick if you match the engine revs to the trans. (Double de-clutching)

An oil change for the gearbox will work wonders for it....have fun!! :D

Thanks for that! Is it a diy project, or a garage job?
