View Full Version : Trivial question - little rubber mat

I'm sorry, folks, for posting on a trivial matter; but it's bugging me! My local car wash appear to have lost the thin little rubber 'mat' that sits in the groove behind the gear shift of my 75 V8. The rotters must have sucked it up in the vacuum. I can't seem to find if it's replaceable! And I'm heart broken.

Any pointers?

None anywhere.... I know a few people have looked for them, don't even know if it even has a part number.

I can only agree is very irritating when not there as every time you look down your eye gets drawn to the blank space....

I've been looking for one for 11 years..................:(

No luck so far.

Thanks for the response, lads; I wonder if the Roewe has the same interior? I will check!

They are unique to the V8 due to the different interior at that point because of the gearbox. More chance of finding three wise men and a virgin in Liverpool.

Don't know about the three wise men and certainly not the virgin in Liverpool but I eventually ended up getting one of those textured dash mats, carefully cutting to shape and then using either double sided tape or blu tack to hold it in place. Looks better than the blank space IMO.

How about copying it and printing with 3d -printer? Possible?

If anyone was prepared to let me have one of these mats as a template then I will happily try to reproduce them but without a copy myself it's very difficult.

Mine turned up under one of the front seats, I did try and make one out of one of the rubber mats that went in the cubby hole above the stereo...FIF000050PMAhttps://www.two-sixties.co.uk/mgoc260/html/f0rum/attachment.php?attachmentid=7572&stc=1

It was ok, but not as good as the original.
