Quite a few variables but if you have the parts, not bothered about the cost and good mechanical skills. Could get a 75 and convert the spec to a ZT.

Welcome along

There was a lad selling a 260 last year which he had converted to look in every way like the Rover version, apart from the 5 speed box. He had wanted a Rover with a manual box. So I guess it was cheaper to do it that way than get Rover and put a manual box in. Curious. It looked great though

Umm yes and no. Different ECU car will need recoding via T4. You will also need oil cooling pipes oil cooler different radiator hoses. Different down pipes. If you want an auto get you self a zt 180

Or get yourself one of the few ZT260 with autobox which were built for the Australian market :)

Thanks eurorover. The question only arises if my lady finds the clutch too much.

Found Index in some old accounts MJ 04 HWB bought from Burndon park Motors Oldham with 35 miles on it. Sold to someone who was thinking of racing it with about 40,000 miles on her.

Thanks so far folks. Have no driven auto box and is too lethargic for me I think. The manual i drove felt a little stodgy on throttle response off pedal but OK at throttle body. Not sure why.
Suspension a bit slow almost overdamped. Steering heavier than i remember on the 245s. Would standing for a long time cuase any of this sluggishness? or are there other common glitches that may explain them?

Problem is the throttle cable...

Suspension is not over-damped but stiff :) Combined with the weight of the car..................
Steering is heavy..........................

Hey..............it's a 260 :)

Thanks Herman. It just seemed a little ponderous compared to my memory of my 260 6 years ago which I sold with 40k on it. The one I drove has less than 5k and been garaged for a while.
