Have decided we need more storage space for our newer race cars and have decided to sell the 520. I have a letter from MG to confirm that it is the last official works car but how do you value this car? What do you think.

I'll give ya £100 for it ;)

In reality though for what it is, I don't think you can put a real price on it. From the rarity of the base car through to the work you've done to create it, it's priceless.

If the numbers come up this weekend Brian I'd give you any figure you ask for it. Hope you've not sold it by the time I come down to see you

Don't think you can put a value on it to be honest

It's a unique car and has to be treated as such

Looking at the MGOC car price I'd say £30k plus comes first

Although I'm happy to pay £5 a day to keep it safe ;)

I know it's a different beast, but wasn't the MG TF500 Extreme up for sale last year for £25K?

MG should buy it back and use it as guide for developing a 2 seater version and place it then in their Longbridge site reception or take it round the world to showcase what GB & US alliances can do in a peaceful way

Brian I think it may be worth more as parts than as a complete car :( Are you able to ship it to different car museums to get it out of the way while you look for a buyer?

Was reading about Paul dropping down to the ZR170 to get a bit more competition. Keep quiet but what about a ZR520 :)

Brian

I think Tim's idea to loan it out would probably create a far bit of interest and thus raise it's value and potential sale.

I suppose it depends if you need the cash out of it, free up storage or trust others to look after it as you have.

It's only worth what someones prepared to pay. Unless there's a class in can compete in, it really is then a show car only.

How about looking at displaying ZT520 at the Riverside Museum in Glasgow, which has an impressive transport section. It could be displayed in the "Made in Scotland" section.

The museum is not far from Callender where the car currently resides. That would allow the freeing up of storage space and give the car some useful exposure while a new owner is found.

I was at the museum last weekend and it was a thoroughly good good day out, which could only have been made better by the presence of ZT520!

We have tried quite a few places to have it put on show but most places already have cars in storage as they do not have enough display space. I tried Glasgow, Gaydon to mention just a few.

Such a hard one to value Brian. Hope you find a buyer and wish you luck with the sale.

I would love to be able to fund and store it so that Paul could still use it for eg MG Live and The Stroke Association Day at Castle Combe so we still get to see and enjoy it

my last dabble on the lotto only resulted in £6 so a long way to go yet
