Hi All

I'm looking to purchase a ZT-260, Can anyone let me know if they have one for sale at the moment, The For Sale thread seems to suggest some cars are for sale with pics, but its hard to follow and see which are still available & which are not!

Would like LPG with the XPower Back boxes ideally, but will be flexible.

Not worried if its a saloon or estate, upto 2004 registration date.

Have a budget in mind, but not £10k!

I'm based in Lancashire, but can travel.

Looking to buy... Let me know what you have

Cheers

You can go to March 2006 before Road Tax is high, or do you want a MKI?

What budget do you have in mind?

I have a Raven Black 2004 with Accufab and X-Powers.
Problem is I need to see at least £7K to consider letting it go

You are welcome to pop over to the City by the Bay to see mine if I aint too far from you.
I aint really needing / wanting to sell right now and am considering a tour to europe some time in the next few months. But I dont know how well you know the model and you are welcome to see how it drives, so if you need to look further afield you will have an idea what to look for. We arent a common motor and I have done 13K since purchase last March and have only met one in the wild and that lives 15 miles away.
And who knows, I might well sell. Or at least you will have had a look and can compare and contrast if you go see others - main thing is take your time and if you have £10 K to spend you can get a cracker or a pretty decent one like mine that has received loving care and attention in the past year and tart it up to your heart's content

HI Herman,

I think "YOU" would have failing bones and a £200 medical outlay a month, if she saw this comment.

Cheers Pete.

Hi Herman

Thanks for the reply.

I'm quite flexible, I'd really like the X-Power exhausts as I think they finish off the v8 nicely, LPG would be nice to try & cut running costs a bit, but its only going to be a weekend/summer toy, so not the end of the world without. Obviously LPG has some downsides running hotter & more complex tanks/piping for issues.

The pre 2004 is for insurance purposes, I can put it on a PB Insurance policy if its over 10yrs old.

Budget is realistically £5-6k

I'm looking at cars in Ireland, Cornwall & Germany at the moment, so distance not really an issue!

I'd probably prefer standard rather than modified (LPG excluded) but you never know, my mind can always be swayed!

Thanks

Peter Best will insure MGs less than 10 years old, they have mine for many years both on classic and non classic policies - so that blows the pre 2004 out of the water ;)

I don't have any NCB to spare, so has to be on a classic, they suggested on the phone yesterday has to be over 10yrs old.

Have a look at the exhaust as they seem to stick out a bit too much for the saloon.
Also check the rear shocks as they looked a bit grubby in the pictures.

Other than that:-

Subframe
Heater hose/valve operation
Condition of rear brakes/discs
Rear springs

Hope it works out OK......

Nich
26-02-2015, 09:10 PM
They look like tourer exhausts from the photos and the N/S one has dropped a considerable amount. The rear shock, as Herman says, would bear some closer examination and something strange going on with the scuttle panel clips.

Hope it all works out Graham.

Slightly worried now! :-(

Exhausts as long as they sound good I don't mind, probably need a tweak to line them up.

Not sure what grubby shocks would suggest, oil leak?

The scuttle panel does look interesting, didn't spot that...
