I joined this forum 2/3 years ago whilst actively planning to buy a 260. In the end being a responsible adult got in the way.
Last year was pretty rough in so many ways for my family and I, this year seems to be a little fraught too so far.
Anyhow, turn off the Simon Bates music! 260s are a bit thin on the ground right now, even thinner are SD1s.
I would love to hear of any 260s or (curve ball) SD1 Vitesses. Must be manual.

Not quite 50 but thinking about planning the party! I'm a lifetime SD1 fan starting back in '86 with a 3500 and another half dozen over the years. Always V8s. My late Dad was a lifetime MG owner, from 1964 till last May.
Don't ask, don't get etc!

Good luck with your search.

I share your love. But the 260 doesnt sound anyhting like the RV8. It is smoother and will pop and burble but doesnt have the steely sonic resonance of an RV8 powered SD1, MG or TVR.
The 260 is also expensive to maintain, in my short experience (10 months ownership, 10K driven) with specialist repairer the best way to go for peace of mind unless you are handy yourself with a garage and all the right tools.
There are a few lads on this site who know their way around the cars and give superb advice but unless you know your way around the 260, I wouldnt recommend fettling and tinkering the same way as you can with an MGB OR MGRover powered unit.

Yep, good luck with finding one. Best to be an enthusiast as they get older they will through up challenges 'normal' owners may struggle with. :)

I've been running Alfa 155s for the last 10 years, so well prepped for a bit of grease monkey. That and being an old fart a healthy respect for vehicle sympathy. Saw "that" 260 video and put me right off buying it....
