So. I need to replace a battery on mine, but are there any precautions I need to be aware of before I do so?

Ive read that the satnav needs to be idle before swapping a battery.. How do I go about doing this without knackering the Mk4 BMW satnav system thats in the boot?

When people talk of the Satnav unit, are there referencing the drive thats sticking out of the carpet on the right hand side into the engine bay, or are they talking about another control unit under the boot carpet near the battery?

many thanks chaps.

You need to go green, There are answers in the "Members Section"

Other than the Sat Nav settling there are no other problems.

yes I do!

Organising that just now...

Current battery is 73Ah, surely I would be better off with a 90Ah?

Any ideas what was fitted as standard?

Cheers!

Hi,

I cant access those links!

What do they say?

On the Varta website, they recommend a 63Ah 610A Cold Cranking Amp battery, but I see some people fitting 096 batteries which are anything up to 77Ah.

What can fit in the back, it doesnt look exactly spacious!

Many thanks.

The original battery was 75ah so anything of that and above will be fine, and don't forget to let the red light extinguish on the sat nav drive before taking the old one off

My bad. You need to contact Tim (https://www.two-sixties.co.uk/mgoc260/html/f0rum/member.php?164-Tim) and go green.
(I don't want to copy things in the "Members Section" into the public area.)
