Good day to you all,

I am new to this forum and joined the other day because I am considering purchasing a 260.
I currently drive a (slightly worse for wear) ZT 135 diesel.

I would be looking at an LPG conversion because I will be driving the car and not leaving it tucked up in the garage and need to get fuel cost down.

As I drive a ZT, I am aware of certain common niggles.

Are there any other typical niggles that are specific to a 260??

I understand that the actual engine is pretty much bullet proof.

One of the reasons for being keen on these cars is that they look gorgeous.
I prefer a them in pearl black - looks like something Batman's big brother would drive.

So my other question would be this:

Does anyone know if it is possible to do the LPG conversion without having the unattractive second filler cap spoiling the beautiful lines of the car??

Any examples of alternatives to this??

Ta in advance for any advice...

Nick....

My filler is on the back of the car. Can you see it?

A bit of a trick really. I will post another photo when I am on my computer.

Really ought to remove all that grungy residue from the double sided tape.

Warm the strips with a heat gun then (carefully) scrape off with an old credit card, Remove final residue with panel wipe or similar spirit. Clean and wax polish.

Do you use magnets to hold the plate on? (I use Velcro)

Andy, it's not the method that is lacking, it's the motivation and energy required. ;)

Velcro also, magnets are subject to a jolt causing release. The Velcro was supposed to be a temporary solution prior to hinging the plate. For reasons why this has not happened, see above! :ash

Thanks Bernard,

I like that a lot.
Also checked out the nanomeets link.
Am in Birmingham.
No doubt will show up one day.
Another question if its not too much trouble:
Whats the preferable LPG system to use?
I'm hearing BRC??
Fella is quoting me 1600 notes?

Could a more permanent bottom hinge arrangement be fitted?

£1600 doesn't sound a lot to me, prices I hear tend to be £2-2,500.

BRC and Prins need specialist service, but there are others more suitable for home DIY.

Bernard would be best to advise on that, but if you don't intend to do your own maintenance make sure that you have somebody close that can look after it for you. LPG service outlets will only deal in one or maybe a couple of different systems.
