Hi there,

this is not the month of my 260. I have an oil leak at the gearbox/transmission output, at the flange to the drive shaft. It's the broken shaft seal/oil seal (German: Simmerring). Does someone know the part number of this shaft seal and where to order? Not sure but it might be this part:

http://www.spunagain.co.uk/ZT260gearbox.htm

And I'm looking for an new air filter for the engine.

Thanks for helping
Marcus

Can't help with the oil seal but the air filter is worth replacing with the upgraded K&N one:

Discount with Opie Oils as well.

I think that's the crankshaft oil seal Dom.

When I had a leak it turned out to be the Output Shaft Adapter. Third thing I'd checked! Ill post a link to the thread below shortly.

Part number for the output shaft seal is correct. Rimmers have 22 in stock
I'd check the output shaft as well as mentioned before.

Air filters in this thread, as well as the K&N of course

@Herman: is LUF000090 or TBX000140 correct at Rimmer's or should I order both?

http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-LUF000090

http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-TBX000140

And I can find the Output shaft adapter at SMC shop on ebay, any ideas?

Thanks

LUF000090 is the crankshaft oilseal not the gearbox oil seal Marcus, if your leak is at the connection between the propshaft (driveshaft) and the gearbox then it's the gearbox oil seal you want TBX000140.

Yes, the oil come out between the propshaft (driveshaft) and the gearbox output. That's what the German Rover garage told me on the phone. But they were not sure about the part numbers.

Is it a good idea to order the output shaft adapter too and to change both TBX000140 seal and the the output shaft adapter? Btw found the adapter:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rover-75-V8-MG-ZT-260-Propshaft-Flange-Adaptor-NEW-A19-/110959073172?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19d5ad1794

For that price I'd get one from Rimmers http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-TVY000030
£30 vs £72

Rimmers showing out of stock.

Don't know where Les is getting 'retails at over £300' from?
