Hello,

Can anyone shed any light on the difference to the 10 spoke Vortex (RRC005341MNH) and the Apex (RRC005341MVV)?

I've looked on the Rimmer's site but the photo shown seem not quite the same. I don't know if it is the angle or whether the spoke depth is slightly different. I can't see them making different versions for such low volumes. Is it the same wheel with, perhaps, differing paint finishes?

Anyone in the know?

cheers

Kev

It looks like the Rimmer's site has the wrong photo for the Vortex, they look exactly the same as the Apex in the photo and they are definitely not the same or anywhere near similar.

10 spoke vortex is RRC005530MWR (http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-RRC005530MWR), straights are RRC005341MNH (http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-RRC005341MNH) and apex RRC005341MVV (http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-RRC005341MVV)

I think the Rimmer's image for the Straights is wrong Herman, it looks like an Apex to me.

RRC005010MNH are NLA. RRC005341MNH is the replacement part number for straights

I know. However, RRC005341MNH are (Apex silver sparkle version) of RRC005341MVV (Apex Platinum Silver)
They are the same wheel with different colours

So the answer is yes they are the same wheel with a different finish, the Rimmer's photo's are both correct and the Vortex Part Number is RRC005530MWR.

Nich.

That is what is totally throwing me. I think Rimmers have used a photo of the Apex for both part numbers but both taken from slightly different angles. Thanks for the input.

This makes it a little clearer.
MNH are 18" 11-spoke straight
MVV are 18" 10 spoke straggered (?). Named Apex with Finish in Smoked Chrome.

So it looks like the 11-spoke straights (MNH) being the only type available means a full set of four so that it no look strange ;-)

Right, it looks as if I will need 4 off MNH type as I cannot see CAT?X-Part doing any more for a couple of hundred motors (sets).
This is hust the inf I was after - NH abd VV are differing paint finishes.

Much obliged for the input,

Kev

MNH, MVV and MWR are actually the finish (paint code) colours.

Apex wheels are relatively scarce, Vortex wheels are near impossible to find, but 11 Spokes, Straights and Gridspokes come up on Ebay from time to time. All are suitable for 260s.

Hi All
Can anyone tell me the going rate for refurbishing a set of 4 no Apex wheels in Shadow Chrome?

Also
Anyone have a set of 18" 11 spoke wheels for sale
I believe Captain Slow had a set a month or so ago. Are they still available?
