Hello,
since three months I own a Rover 75 V8 Contemporary SE Saloon I found in U.K. and brought home to Germany. The car has 17.000 miles on the clock and former owner told me to change diff oil now. I do not find any information about oil specification. The cars first registration was in March 2005. Can anybody help with informations?

bavarian

From the Consumables section:-

Rear Differential
There are only three oils available in the UK that have full sign-off for the unit. These are:-
Mobil SHC80W140 id
Castrol SAF-XJ80W-140 as originally specified has been replaced with Castrol Syntrax 75W-140
Morris Lubricants Lodexol XFS 80W-140.

Capacity 1.6l

You need to sent the questionnaire back to Tim to get full access to all the info on the forum

Southern Germany, towards Austria and Czech Rep. and about 700km away from Bremen, 500 from Cologne and Cochen :)

Nice area though. Been there once whilst visiting Munich for work

Sounds nice, maybe we travelled through that region from The Ring down to Prague last September?

Welcome along and to greeness :) I see Herman has asnwered your question about the diff oil. If you are replacing it yourself it helps lifting the car slightly to get better access to the openings.

Hello everybody,
the home of the V8 with steering on the "right" side is Regensburg, 100 km from Munich in Eastern Bavaria. Here we have a big BMW-factory and I know some BMW-guys who worked for Rover in England, helping to develop and introducing the 75 before 2000. I also own a Tourer with BMW-Diesel for daily use. For me as a 75-enthusiast the V8 is just a dream which came true now...some lyrics.
Thank you for the important infos regarding the oil.
I know just two guys in Bavaria owning a MG ZT 260. Let me know if other 260 or V 8 owners are located in the area.
