Nice car, what's the mileage? I'm guessing 8 service stamps 40-50,000 miles?

Always sad when a member sells.

What I'd like and what I will be able to afford may well be poles apart - no plans as the moment for a replacement Damo just use Jeans Fiesta until she finally passes her test and then who knows, probably a 45 or a TF.

It's a sad day, the V8 was collected by it's new owner just before 12 today and is heading south to Brighton.

The gent that's bought it is a recent member of the 75 & ZT owners club - I have suggested that he also register's with the Two-Sixties, joins the MGOC etc.etc., hope he does.

Now the decision do I use my head and upgrade the good ladies Fiesta or use my heart and replace the V8 with something I'd like........time will tell.

Either way I'll still be around from time to time.

The management (read the good lady) frowned upon V8's in those days so I had to "make do" with a '84 2600S, beautiful car in moonraker.

all i can say i what a cracking car, its only the 2nd 75 V8 i have had verses about 45 x ZT 260's. the cars condition and the way it drives is amazing, looks more like 10k miles.

i have seen the pics in the gallery, and Jimbo this car is a credit to you. talk about a cherished and loved car.

the previous guy got the MG rear bumper and exhausts done. sadly he has now bought an HDiCDTiTDiCRDi, well its diesel

i think the alcantara / leather special order ZT interior suits the mongram paint. the only other one i had was platinum with sand leather and looked a bit dated, but this one has the best of the ZT and Rover together

yes it does look good, i didnt realise about the rear bumper / exhaust straight away as it looked normal to me with all the ZT 260s i have had. only when i looed at the rear from a distance i realised it was different.

the car should appeal to someone wanting something different

Hi all
I'm now the proud owner of this lovely car! I brought it from Elite yesterday and I only stopped driving it when I ran out of petrol... I must say this car is rather infectious.

The is one niggly little problem - the battery light flashes up whilst driving. I'm going to put a multi meter across the alternator this morning as I'm pretty sure that is what is at fault but as it was sold with a good warranty I know it will be fixed fine. Next question can anyone recommend a good MG/Rover specialist in the Shepperton area?

Battery light flashing is one of TADTS (They All Do That Sir) unless it's on for a longer time or permanent, nothing to worry about. :)

indeed a common problem and one to which there is (to my knowledge) no fix for so dont waste time or money searching for it, the oil pressure light can behave in the same way, its the wonders of so many different ECU's talking to each other - or at least trying to.

In terms of fuel, the fuel gauges can be a little unreliable so general rule of thumb don't let it go below 1/4 of a tank, some have been known to run out without the warning light coming on whilst mine for example will do 30 miles with the light on (though they are a very nervous 30 miles)

Tim is not a million miles from you so he's probably the best to recommend a specialist in your area

And as everyone has said - welcome to the collective!

Thank you all for the warm welcome and advice :)
I did check the output and it is reading nearly 14.5v so it must be ok - I'll stop worrying now I know others do it! Oh and is an idle of around 400rpm when in drive and 500rpm when in neutral the norm?
I must say it is great to find such a genuine and helpful group of people :)

Welcome to the collective. If you fill in the registration form, send back to Tim and become 'green' a world of info opens.

As for the idle, not to sure about the auto-versions but mine idles around 600rpm on the dial. As long as it idles smooth..............

Tim - thanks for the contact much appreciated

Andy G - I have just sent back in my questionnaire to become green. I didn't go to the media day last year but I was at Brands (and all the other BTCC meets apart from Rockingham) .... You can see me talking to one of the MG employees (I think it was Adam?) on your first photo on your Brands thread! I can add some of my photos to your thread if you want over the next few days? It's a small world!

Glad to hear that my old car has found another owner, enjoy.

Why Cedric bought it off me I've no idea seeing he only had 5 months. I'm hoping you've received all the history i'd passed over to him including the copy of Enjoying MG and the 2011 75 and ZT Owners Club calendar that both featured the car.

The car had a new steering wheel, it's third, less than a year ago as the black oak wheels tend to fade to green. I'd kept it covered whilst the car was not in use and advised him to do the same.

I'd upgraded all the oem hiline to BMW widescreen etc. I'd planned as the next upgrade fitting a bluetooth Grom to replace the CD changer and a reversing camera - there are pinouts available for this but I just can't lay my hands on the information atm.

Anything I can help you with about anything in particular just drop me a pm
