View Full Version : Help! ZT-T 260 SE Wanted

Hi , I'm new to the forum and have been looking for a ZT-T 260SE Mk2 for some time. I saw one advertised this week and had already planned to buy it but when I called it was already sold.
I don't have silly money to spend (I have seen people asking 13K) so don't mind higher mileage so long as it's still a nice car.
If there's anyone here thinking of selling or know of someone I will be interested (unless the car is black or red, not my colours).

If I have to give up on the seemingly impossible search I would consider a 190 SE Mk2 so long as it had a sunroof, but have not seen one of these either for some time.

Anyway thanks for your help / advice etc in advance.

Does it have to be an estate?

Sadly it does, there's plenty of saloons around (relatively speaking) but I do need an estate.

Problem is you will still be thinking I wonder what a V8 would have been like :)

Hang out for a V8 estate, you know it makes sence.

Welcome along Arthur

I think I probably will wait for a V8, the 190 would have to be an SE with a sunroof and in very good condition for me to even think about it and they seem to be almost as hard to find as the 260! The 190's are almost all basic spec or +, there was one SE recently but it was knackered.

I still have a relic which I need to sell, an SD1 Vitesse which was my first V8 (and second car). I kept thinking I would get around to restoring it but with work, familily and motorbike that is not going to happen. If I did get a ZT-T260 I could finally sell the SD1 which hasn't turned a wheel for 10 years and feel I had a suitable replacement at last.

Thanks for your replies already and also for welcoming me.

Cheers:-)

Thanks, it seems I will need to wait some more! (which I'm not very good at) Just hope my current car holds out long enough.

Two Arthurs with V8 estates? That's gonna cause some confusion! ;-)

As long as he doesn't buy Martin's green tourer I think we're probably OK. ;)

Come to think of it, green is my favourite colour, so you never know! Would go nicely with my Green Truimph Sprint (bike).

As for "Sunny" Brighton, I may have been a little misleading, it's surprisingly moist here considering there's a drought on.

Well it is a novelty having a fellow Arthur here, we're quite few and far between normally, not to dissimilar to the ZT-T260 I can't find! Come to think of it I can only think of having known one other in the last 40 ish years of my existence, hence the potential for confusion as us Arthur's generaly are used to being the only one around;-)

Sunny Brighton:-)

May 13th is the annual MGOC and MGCC Regency run which finishes at...Madeira Drive Brighton
Come along after about 12 noon and you should find some ZTV8's and maybe ZT-T V8's among the 500 or so MG cars expected. Then you can have a chat with owners and get some tips on what to look out for!

Good luck with your search. I had my ZT-T for four fantastic years, it was a stunning car.

Thanks,

Just found the thread about a ZT-T 260 for sale my joy quickly vanished when I found it was the the car I was intending to buy, well I'm sure it will be well looked after in Sommerset!

Colin, I might take you up on your kind offer, I'm quite familiar with Ashington as it used to be part of my commute when I worked in Pulborough a few years ago.

I know of a Mk2 ZT-T (non SE) in X-Power Grey coming up for sale soon. 2004 Reg, 51,000 miles, FSH, black half leather interior with detachable tow bar. Bonnet scoop fitted but original clean bonnet included in sale. I think he will be looking for 6.5k. I will post more details when I have them.

Will it have the all important sunroof and any other SE extras?

Dr Funk

Thanks Nich, sounds like it will be worth a look particularly if it has some of the options.

Just saw a ZT-T190 SE on ebay with every possible option, really nice ignition blue. I didn't get a chance to see it despite trying to make arrangements to see it within hours of it going on ebay. Someone put a deposit on it after I'd made contact. I guess the only way to buy a ZT-T SE (190 or 260) if the price is not crazy is to buy it blind and then hope it's a good-un.

The next SE (V6 or V8) in the right colour price etc. I'm buying!
