Hi

Does anybody know what these wheels are

http://www.mgcars.org.uk/news/news645.html

and whether they're still available?

Also, at the risk of incurring the wrath of the purists, has anybody tried flaring the wheel arches on the ZT-T as in the original ZT385 promo pics to give a more muscular stance?

I didnt see any pictures re the wheels, so not sure which ones you are refering to?

Re the arches never heard anyone else doing that mod, might be tricky on an estate, I always think the saloon looks a littl ungainly from the rear...

You would have to be brave to try it me thinks!

Pic is on right hand side of page that comes up with first link - they're a five-spoke but i don't think they are Mirage because those are only 17"

I stand to be corrected, of course :o

Oh yeah I see them now, sorry

They do like they are bigger than 17", more like 19"

I havent seen them anywhere else before so maybe they were a one off, fairly sure no 19" wheels made the production cars...

Have seen a few suggestions that they are after market TSW Mirage alloys, which may cause some confusion when they are quoted as mirage?
Also found a couple more pics, but they look like subtlety different wheels to me.

Yes, gorgeous aren't they?

TSW don't seem to list a Mirage, but there are some others quite similar http://www.tsw.com/19_inch_alloy_wheels.php - Ace and (also confusingly) Vortex, but I don't want to stray too far from the MG look into chav territory, so a bit more digging needed methinks.

Looking at those pics I now definitely MUST have a tailgate spoiler too ;)

(who needs to open the hatch anyway!)

Similar to the ones Martin (Merl) has just bought, but in black.

In a way but no... mine are deep dish and are the 5 twin spoke variety...

These remind me of the compmotives or the TSW or Jade R... over the years there have been very similar designs by different manufacturers...

Can't see those on your photos, Merl - I think the ones I'm looking for may be 19" - is that likely to cause handling/performance issues?

On that note, my mate just bought a Focus ST220 and asked me to 'try to keep up' last night........right up his chuffer until he backed off - silly boy :D
