To offer the prize John had to make sure the 'event' was a competition involving some knowledge of the subject matter. If there is not some sort of selection process involving a quiz it will become a lottery and be subject to gaming laws. Good luck.

Are we not now asking a question without a right answer it would appear from my flimsey research! Doesnt that open a can of worms in relation to the £17,000 winnings, er I mean competition prize!?

Thanks for your entries eveyone. Already had around 50 in total and that's within a few days! As regards to the question? The prize competition has to have a skill question that not everyone may know the answer to (otherwise it doesn't comply with the Gambling Commission rules and regulations!). There are three choices and the decision of the promoter (that's me!) is final. I'm trying to get some local press interest and also with MG Car Club and MG Enthusiast too. Seems the telephone hotline is gonna busy for sometime to come :)!

So.... whats the answer?

Should probably ask a proper question too.... whens the final entry date? I assume a little before July?

Draw is to be made at MG Live! on 24th June 2012. Will be taking entries right up to that date (that's if the competition isn't already full by then!). Seem to be receiving cheques daily, but the telephone hot line has been off the Celcius scale :)!

History is a stange thing but legacy is far more powerfull :)

Easy it's

Monosodium Glutamate

Monosodium glutamate, also known as sodium glutamate or MSG, is the sodium salt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_salt) of glutamic acid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glutamic_acid), one of the most abundant naturally occurring non-essential (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essential_amino_acid) amino acids (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amino_acid).[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monosodium_glutamate#cite_note-natural_occurrence-0) It has been classified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_and_Drug_Administration) as generally recognized as safe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generally_recognized_as_safe) (GRAS) and by the European Union as a food additive (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_additive). MSG has the HS code (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmonized_System_Code) 29224220 and the E number (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E_number) E621.[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monosodium_glutamate#cite_note-1) The glutamate of MSG confers the same umami (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umami) taste of glutamate from other foods, being chemically identical.[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monosodium_glutamate#cite_note-Ikeda-2) Industrial food manufacturers market and use MSG as a flavor enhancer because it balances, blends and rounds the total perception of other tastes.

The 1 & 2 weights are 1-Front 2-Rear, dry weight?

so a driver and a bit of weight in the front would give a 50/50 balance?

Hi John,
Does it have a European Certificate of Conformity? I forgot to ask when I bought my ticket a few days back. It will make it a lot easier to register here in France when I win it :-) It was great meeting you, and thanks for the guided tour of your V8 treasures. You just need an MGB GT V8 to complete the set!
Julian.

Hi John. Glad you went ahead with my idea of a competition ;) I was wondering if I may copy this thread onto the BRM site, as I spend more time on there then .org these days? If you have any issues I will remove the thread, I don't think there will be any issues as it does aid a good cause :)

Hi Gaz, only just seen your message, can't see any problem with you copying it across, just remember, it is not a raffle or a lottery, it is a skill based competition (then it complies with Gambling Commission regulations). I'm upto around 250 entries and climbing! Oh and Julian, yes it does, I know from selling a new MG TF to Sweden last year that you have to quote various numbers and then all is fine! Now then-anyone else want to enter? You've gotta be in it to win it :)!

Made this offer on other forums and will do on here too. I'll offer £250 to the person who has the most entries into the competition (10 or over). That means, if you have 10 goes and no else takes me up on the offer, then you'll be £50 better off! If you want to do a syndicate or whatever, then that's upto you. The entries must all be in the same name and address. Is that a good offer or what :)!!!

Wasn't able to complete the draw at MG Live! I've had 460 entries so far. Should be able to complete the draw later this year at the current rate of sale. Oh and as for not selling the car? I've withdrawn it for sale now anyway, but truth is, I didn't try very hard to sell it, cos for quite a long time I was tempted to keep it! (where else can you buy number 1 of a cars build?). Many thanks to all on here who've entered so far and keep the entries coming! Post, phone (01384 259555 option 4), e-mail (sales@summitgarage.co.uk OR in person (coffee's good too :)!)
