Think you will find this part was sold a year ago John as per post 2. I can only assume you are looking for one but I'm not clear for what car. Is it a 2004 R75 V8 Conn SE?

Just words of warning for KB engines.

You need to slice some of the cooling fins off as they rub on the pully.

Where do you live?

I am sure someone will have suggestions as to the availability.

(Why are you not green?)

Original and Replacement Part Numbers:

The original number you require is:

XPART No: YLE000320

The Motorcraft number is:

CY XR3U-AC 30 8:26 19

OR

CY XR3U-AC 02011623

I suspect the final numbers are irrelevant its the XR3U-AC that is the Motorcraft Number. CY is also Visteons version number I believe, these seem to be available from the States for like $80-$100.

Hope this helps, (taken from the Forum INDEX).

Assuming that it's the same as the 260 one which I think it probably is then it is MGR Part No. YLE000320 and is available from Brown and Gammons, they show 4 in stock.

I'd be surprised if Rodley Motors don't stock them as well! :)

Herman, is the BYN7776 a straight replacement or is there any modifications to make?
I've contacted Real Steel and sent them some photos of mine to confirm they're the same, but still waiting a reply.

As far as I can see no mods needed. Listed for the 281 engine from 1996-1998

They also have BYN8252 105 amp- internal regulator £128.78 281- SOHC 1999-2004 listed which also fits but has a lower output.

Mechanical mountings should be the same for both

Alternator arrived next day from Real Steel and was fitted within 15 mins!
Probably the easiest alternator I've ever fitted, thanks to Ford putting some effort into the method of fixing the alternator to the block.

To fit alternator: (see photos).
1: Disconnect the battery.
2: Unscrew bolts 3-6 and remove top bracket.
3: Disconnect connector plug & main battery lead (10mm nut).
4: Loosen 10mm bolts 1 & 2 approx 5-10mm, this will allow the alternator to lean forward and loosen the drive belt.
5: Using a 3/8" drive ratchet insert it into the tensioner and apply a clockwise pressure to release the belt.
6: Pop the belt off the alternator wheel and lift the alternator off in an upward direction.
7: Reverse proceedure to refit new alternator.

Quick question about alternators. When you look on-line (ebay US etc) there are new uprated ones with upto 200amp http://www.ebay.com/itm/FORD-MUSTANG-GT-ALTERNATOR-1999-2000-2001-2002-2003-2004-200-HIGH-AMP-SOHC-4-6L-/261154188372?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cce00ac54&vxp=mtr. If you were buying a new one would that be needed or a good idea
