Hi all, first post by me, i just picked up my ZT-T 260 :D

then the heater hose blew after only 20 hours of owning it (i had been asleep for six of those) and i need it replacing.

i have the OEM part on order from xpart (for £90!!!) and it's due to be fitted tomorrow.

whilst the guys at the garage are getting friendly with my car i'd rather they fit the silicone jobbie, but i can't seem to access the club shop.

can someone PM me details of how i can get my mitts on one please?

TIA

the car is freaking awesome by the way, most fun i've had since i sold my vx220, but more practical for my soon to arrive son/ daughter i hope!!

:)

good to know thanks :)

here's to a less leaky day tomorrow!

glad i found this place, seems like a goldmine for knowledge!

next question, is it worth upgrading my highline tv setup to one of these?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MG-ZT-Rover-75-Head-Unit-IPOD-DVD-CD-TV-BT-USB-LOGO-Digital-TV-receiver-/250937169021?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3a6d05547d

plus points as far i can see:
they look fancy
my cd drive for the satnav is missing from the car and the analogue receptor won't work forever

negatives as far as i can see:
none if it works

ColinE

There's some information on there about these and more on the 75&ZT Owners club, some on here have upgraded to this unit or a varient thereof, others, like me, have upgraded to the later BMW kit with widescreen DVD based sat nav and digital TV tuner, though the latter is pricey

Again I'd recommend full membership to get full benefit of the expertise of the members on here

Oh and it's worth updating your profile to include your location, you can be as vague (county) or detailed (town/village) as you want - it just means members local to you may be in a position to assist directly should you have issues

Hello and welcome!
I have one and am very satisfied with it, works and sounds very good. I'm sure someone nearby can give you a demonstration.
The fourth picture from the left is my logo that he made for me with my VIN number!:-)

Welcome along. My head unit, though a differing, model uses igo8 satnav software too, and I can say that it's very good. My head unit is a pioneer, however the one your looking at looks better In the 260.

Again welcome and happy good times.

Welcome, they are great fun and quirky car's. I have had the Double Dim unit and it is fine, I sold my one a few days ago, I am not sure it looked great in the car but then that is a personal choice. There is a new android unit that some of the 75 & ZT people have. That has more toys, but more importantly looks more like the BMW E46 unit that I think suits the car better.

Have a look on here http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/ under the ICE section and then the Double Dim Units. Sean is the man who supply's them and is the seller you listed on ebay.

If anywhere close-ish to the Midlands visit Nick & Jean at Austin Garages, sure all the rest of the guys will tell you, he knows every inch of the 260 and is worth it just for a once over as well as any work you need.

cheers guys. first priority, get the car back!!!!

the replacement OEM part is taking an age to arrive so i am hoping that all my membership stuff can come through here in time to allow me to buy the (half the price) club replacement!

i'm relatively open- minded about the cost of the replacement satnav etc as i see the car as a keeper.

just as ballpark, if the option i found on ebay is £330, give or take, what do they go up to at the superfandango end of the market?

TIA as ever :D

The monogram paints are tricky, not from a technique viewpoint as I have no expertise in that department, but in tems of cost.

There has been talk of some paints costing £500+ per litre, making relatively small Jobs hideously expensive to complete.

You maybe need to make some enquiries with your local painter and also on the other MGR sites to find someone who may be able to help.

I talked to Tony on this. I think the best and possible cheapest route would be to find a donor chromatic car. If you plan to have it a while wait for a crashed one, or possibly a high mileage bit battered one and swap the bits.

The shelf will be marked where you need to cut and is easy with a sharp Stanley knife. You'll then need to areldite the mounting points onto the shelf and bob's you're uncle.

I had to do that as the shelf I got with my blind was the wrong colour.

To be fair it depends on how good the freeview coverage is at any location

On the move they're not great, but one should not watch and drive

With the analogue switch off the freeview situation should improve

it would still be good to listen to the likes of Top Gear, Grand Prix's BTCC etc on teh move though

It did not improve with mine,it changes to good reception to none in a matter of a few yards,at least with analogue it kept its signal all the time throwing hissy fits some times but at least you could always follow the program on the move.:(
